With the full Magic Santa Express event kicking off soon (and the reindeer arriving on November 29th!), I wanted to share a little throwback magic and tell you exactly why this FREE ENTRY spot should be at the top of your family’s festive to-do list for this year.
My Favourite Memory from Last Year: Meeting Ant & Dec
Last Christmas, we walked into the Garden Centre just to browse the decorations and pick up our tree. We followed the signs for the Santa’s Yard out of curiosity, and suddenly, we were immersed in a festive wonderland.
It felt so special. The twinkling lights, the crisp evening air, and that comforting scent of Christmas greenery all made for the perfect atmosphere. And then we saw them: Ant and Dec, the resident reindeer, looking every bit as magnificent as you’d expect Santa’s team to be!
Many little ones’ eyes were going wide. We spent a good while just watching them, whispering to them, and pointing out their enormous, gorgeous antlers.
Why I loved it: Unlike some crowded, expensive events, this was calm, accessible, and completely pressure-free. We got that huge dose of Christmas magic without needing a ticket for the main grotto (which, by the way, is a separate, fully ticketed experience).

The best part about the Santa’s Yard area is that it’s designed to be a festive pit stop for all Christmas customers—you don’t have to be on the Santa Express train to enjoy it.
It’s the perfect place to pause, warm up, and really soak in the atmosphere. You can treat yourself to a warm mulled wine and the kids a delicious, creamy hot chocolate. It’s such a simple pleasure, but it’s what Christmas memories are made of.
Plus, it’s the ultimate photo opportunity for the kids!
